Mr. Stephen Gouveia & Mr. Richard Dube
Through the sequence of four years, the students enrolled in Carpentry learn structural design and become familiar with various carpentry concepts, such as layout, form building, rough framing, and outside and inside finishing. They also learn to use a range of industry-standard tools, machines, equipment, and materials of the trade. All of our students begin their program of study by obtaining their OSHA-10 safety certification. Over the scope of their 4 years of specialized classroom and hands-on live work assignments, our Carpentry students additionally learn blueprint reading, freehand sketching, business operations, and many selected industry-standard carpentry competencies. As a result of our teachers' experienced instruction, our Carpentry students learn the relationship between carpentry and the other building trades.
