Mr. Supple teaches the Automotive curriculum at Dighton-Rehoboth. He attended a two year Automotive Program at Franklin Institute of Boston after serving in the US Army. Mr. Supple has held many different automotive jobs such as Service Writer, Automotive Tech and Shop Foreman.  He worked for 22 years in the field with Honda and Saab.  Spent  ten years at UTI in Norwood as an Automotive Instructor. Currently an ASE Master Tech as well as a Saab Master Tech, along with ASE L1,C1 and G1 certifications. He hopes to  contribute to your automotive skills and knowledge.

Mr. Michael Strojny is the Automotive Instructor at DRRHS. Prior to teaching he worked for General Motors at the dealership level for 27 years both full and part time. He started as a line technician, shop foreman and lead Corvette technician specializing in drivability and electrical diagnosis. His education consists of thousands of hours with General Motors factory specialized training. He then graduated from Rhode Island College earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Michael also is an ASE Master Technician, RI State Inspector, and OSHA Certified. Prior to starting at DDRHS Michael was an Account Executive with Snap-on Tools. He traveled all over the country training adults on diagnostic scan tools. Michael hopes to advance the Automotive program by bringing the shop into a more competitive modern dealership style program. This is the way to give the students the best education and competitive edge for whatever they choose to do after graduation, whether their path leads them to a Secondary School, College or right into the workforce, his students will be prepared for life. Fun fact, Michael is a great chef and loves to cook and entertain his friends and family.

Program of Study

Freshman Year: Students will learn and develop skills in basic automotive repair and maintenance through hands-on training and theory.
Sophomore Year: Students will study and practice entry level skills in all eight ASE certification areas to lay the foundation for more advanced instruction in junior year.
Junior Year: Students will receive advanced level instruction in all eight ASE certification areas.
Senior Year: Students hone their acquired skills through customer production in the shop and co-op at local employers to transition from school to the workplace or post-secondary education.

Additional Information

The Automotive Technology Program curriculum is evaluated and accredited by the ASE Education Foundation to meet current Automotive Industry standards. Upon graduation and future work experience, students may obtain ASE Technician certifications in eight automotive areas and may include their shop hours towards these certifications. Tech Prep articulation agreements with several existing colleges allow Dighton Rehoboth students to earn college credit for coursework completed in the Automotive Technology Program. Our Automotive Technology Program also takes part in Student Career Development through the ASE Education Foundation.
