It is our goal that we have responsible, caring players who show respect and sportsmanship. We have passionate players and skilled student athletes who love the game. Meet the Captains!

Resse J

Reese Jefferson -

Reese is the true definition of a team player and student athlete. She has a natural talent and passion for the game. She is a leader both on and off the field. Reese is a 2 year captain and 2 year MVP award winner for the DR field hockey team.  In addition to this, she has also earned SCC Allstar during her sophomore and junior seasons.

Reese says “I have been a part of the DR varsity field hockey program since my freshman year. To me, field hockey at DR is more than just a sport—it’s a family. As a captain, I take pride in contributing to our team’s success and creating a supportive environment where everyone can grow and thrive. Some of my favorite memories, both on and off the field, include winning hard-fought games and bonding with my teammates during team sleepovers. I’m incredibly thankful for our coaches, who challenge us every day to become better players. Their encouragement and coaching have brought out the best in each of us, helping us grow both as athletes and as people. DR field hockey has had an amazing impact on my high school experience, shaping not only who I am but also the friendships I’ve built along the way. The lessons I’ve learned—about teamwork, perseverance, and leadership—are ones I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.”

Madison

Madison Williams - Maddie has a strong desire to better herself every time she steps on the field whether it’s practice or a game. She is a true team player - always willing to do whatever it takes to help her teammates. Maddie earned JV MVP during her sophomore season and is expected to be a key member of the 2025 team.

Maddie says “I’ve played field hockey since middle school and have been in multiple teams, but DR is the only team that has felt like a family. I’ve played at DR since freshman year, and I can’t imagine high school without it. We bond both on and off the field, through wins and losses, or team dinners and sleepovers. These bonds are ones that are carried throughout the school year, not just through the season. For me, field hockey seasons are the highlight of high school, and the memories we’ve made are ones you can’t create anywhere else. We have amazing coaches who push us to be the best version of ourselves, on and off the field. They create incredible athletes and beautiful people, and it’s an absolute privilege to be coached by them. Field hockey is more than just a game at DR. It's a place to feel like you belong, improve yourself, and make new friends. As captain of the 2025 season, I can’t wait to see what this season will bring.

Rebecca Z

Rebecca Zankul - Becca has an amazing work ethic. She pushes herself from the time she steps on the field to the time she steps off during both games and practices. She truly is an example of our team motto to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. Becca earned the coaches award during her junior season for her amazing work ethic.

Becca says “As someone who has played field hockey at DR since my freshman year, I can easily say it has been one of the greatest experiences of high school. I was not only playing a sport I loved, but I also had my amazing teammates. Field hockey is the best way to make new friends, especially as you go into high school and start a new chapter. We are so tight-knit, and I think that completes this sport. As a captain of the 2025 season, I will strive to make everyone feel how I felt throughout my first seasons: included, encouraged, and supported. This is a safe space to be yourself as everyone will accept you. With incredible teammates and coaches, field hockey is why I continue to look forward to high school sports; I created everlasting friendships, made unforgettable memories, and learned valuable lessons.
