Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School proudly announces Kaitlyn Arguin as the Class of 2026 Valedictorian and Laura Cruz as Salutatorian. Both students exemplify the high standards of academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement that define DRRHS.
Valedictorian Kaitlyn Arguin, of North Dighton, completed a rigorous program that included eight Advanced Placement courses, earning AP Scholar with Honors distinction along with College Board National Recognition. Her honors also include the Brown University Book Award and the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents Academic Excellence Award.
Arguin is an accomplished violinist, performing with regional ensembles and earning multiple selections to the Southeastern Massachusetts Senior District Festival. At DRRHS, she serves as President of the National Honor Society and Vice President of the Spanish Club, while also contributing to Peer Leadership and the Newspaper Club.
She will attend the College of the Holy Cross this fall, majoring in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and Music.
Salutatorian Laura Cruz, of Rehoboth, will graduate having completed ten Advanced Placement courses and the full Portuguese curriculum. She has earned AP Scholar with Distinction, the RPI Medal Award, and a perfect score on the Math MCAS.
Cruz has been an active member of the Math Team since eighth grade and participates in numerous organizations, including the National Honor Society and several language and service clubs. A three-sport varsity athlete, she also gives back to her community through tutoring and volunteer work.
She will attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute this fall, where she plans to major in Mathematics.

Their accomplishments reinforce that at DRRHS, there truly is something for everyone, and that students can pursue rigorous academics while also thriving in the arts, athletics, leadership, and service. They are outstanding examples of the words we live by each day: #WeAreDR,” said Superintendent Bill Runey.
Principal Dustin Demers added “These two students represent the very best of DRRHS. Their achievements reflect our commitment to empower students, ignite their passions, and shape their futures. Kaitlyn and Laura truly embody a school culture where there is something for everyone, and where students are supported to reach their highest potential.”
