Attention DR Alumni & Community Members, If you recall, the Dighton-Rehoboth District started the Strategic Planning process last year by developing the Portrait of a Graduate (POG). I am very pleased to share that the next phase of our Strategic Planning initiative is on schedule for a proposal to be made to School Committee in late May/early June. Both our Strategic Planning Committee and our DLT have christened this process “DRiving Toward 2030.” I want to salute all who have been collaborative in this process since the Portrait of a Graduate kicked off in the fall of 2022. Now, I am asking everyone else to consider participating. We are adding a few more subcommittee members who are alumni or live in our two towns. We are now at the stage of assembling subcommittees to build out the five foundational elements of the “DRiving Toward 2030” plan. Participating is optional; and in my opinion, it’s not a heavy lift. We are probably looking at a maximum of three evening meetings over a 4-month period. If you are willing to serve on a subcommittee, please take 2-3 minutes prior to January 9 at Noon to complete this Google Form. We will be creating subcommittees for each of the 5 focus areas (see below) and would like to know your top 3 subcommittee preferences. Please be sure to mark your calendar for Wednesday, January 24 at 6pm for our next in-person DRiving Toward 2030 meeting. DRiving Toward 2030 Subcommittees - Funding and Facilities (Resources) - Sustainable fiscal health, facilities, and resources - Safe & Healthy Learning Environment - Cultures that welcome learning and school environments where each scholar thrives - Curriculum, Instruction, & Learning Outcomes - High-quality curriculum and instruction that results in future-ready learning outcomes - Community Engagement - Enhanced school and community connections and family engagement - Expanded Learning Opportunities - Learning opportunities both in school and community Thank you! Together, we are DR! Bill Runey Superintendent

Due to numerous road closures in our towns, I have concerns about elementary buses running after sundown. Therefore, we will have the following dismissals: High School at 1pm; Middle Schools at 2pm; Elementary Schools at 3pm. Champions will remain open. Families should be aware that delays are inevitable. A decision on after-school activities is forthcoming. Thank you for your understanding of this decision made in the name of safety. The recent pep rally was a resounding success, igniting a surge of school spirit and galvanizing the entire student body. The energy in the gymnasium was intense as students of all grades filled the stands, their voices roaring in unison with every cheer and chant. A series of hilarious games pitted each class against each other with the Class of 2024 winning bragging rights as the most spirited class. The energy was contagious, and even the teachers were swept up in the fervor, joining the students in a jubilant celebration of school spirit. #WeAreDR!

Due to the sudden onset of torrential rain, we must move the graduation indoors. We apologize, but this is the only decision to be made. Overflow will be in the auditorium as well as the cafeteria if guests do not have time to make alternate plans.

We were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to host our CTE and Civics Showcases this week, and it was indeed a memorable experience. Witnessing our students present and engage in discussions about their impressive work at DR was a true delight. The level of poise and confidence displayed by our students when asked about their programs and projects was truly commendable. We want to thank our staff, students, families, and School Committee for their unyielding support. Our entire DR community is proud of their exceptional efforts and achievements. Congratulations to all! #WeAreDR
